Steven Lambert has been charged with robbery following an incident near Norwich Castle in the city on March 10 last year when a man had a mobile phone, cash and bank cards stolen.

The 49-year-old from Rouen Road in the city appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Friday (March 6) when he denied robbery.

A trial, expected to last three days, was put in the warned list for March 8 next year.

It means a trial could take place anytime within two weeks of that date.

Danielle O'Donovan appeared for the prosecution while Ian James represented Lambert who appeared in the dock using a crutch to support himself.
