Norfolk County Council received reports of a man offering immediate repairs for supposed roof damage he had spotted on the roofs of properties in Stalham.

He specifically told homeowners he could see missing tiles.

The man was seen using a grey Nissan Navara pickup with signage indicating his trade.

The council advises that people should never deal with cold callers.

This includes never allowing them on to private property, never agreeing to further visits, and never providing personal information or agreeing to new contracts, regardless of any claims or 'special offers' presented.

People are reminded to report any sighting of doorstep cold callers in Norfolk.

They can do this through the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on freephone 0808 223 1133, or Norfolk Constabulary via 101.
