Developers withdraw plans for homes in city suburb

Applicant Bullen Developers Ltd hoped to construct two three-bedroom homes at Manor Farm Close in Drayton.

As part of their application, which they put forward in 2022, they said: "The site is an attractive and efficient infill development comprising of two family homes set around a shared courtyard frontage with a building line position in keeping with the existing street scene."

But more than four years later, new documents show a request for the application to be withdrawn.

The site earmarked for the homes is next to a major development of 267 homes currently being built by Hopkins Homes.

Of the total number of homes, 88 of them will be affordable housing.

Included in the plans are new footpaths and traffic calming measures along nearby Carter Road, George Drive and Bone Road.

There are also plans for a children's play area and allotments, plus a section of land to the doctor's surgery for expansion, in line with demand.
