The dilapidated Royal Hotel on Great Yarmouth's Marine Parade had been highlighted as a fire risk when it became apparent that people were living in the empty 55-bedroom building.

Concerns were also raised about anti-social behaviour being caused.

But now Great Yarmouth Borough Council has confirmed the premises has been secured by the owners AYA Hotels, who bought the building in 2023 for £1.2m, and the squatters have been removed.

A council spokesman said: " The council has been liaising with the owners........
