Did you hear about the 10-year-old boy in Mississippi who got arrested for urinating in a parking lot? Crazy, huh?

According to NBC News, the boy was with his mom at an attorney’s office that had a sign saying no public restrooms available. He really needed to go, so he went outside and relieved himself discreetly near his mom’s vehicle. But a police officer driving by saw him and the boy was eventually arrested and jailed.

The family’s attorney said prosecutors pursued the case, and this week a judge in youth court placed the boy on three months’ probation and ordered him to write an essay about the late NBA star Kobe Bryant.

The family’s attorney contends race might have been a factor in the arrest of the boy, who is black.

Poor kid. All that trauma for doing something that most males have done at least once in their lifetime – without any repercussions.
