YouTuber and investigative journalist Nick Shirley’s quest to uncover fraud continues to yield results that — while alarming — are also admittedly hilarious in watching.
After gaining national attention for his investigation of Minnesota’s Somali communities, Shirley has made his way to Los Angeles, California.
In an update posted to social media platform X on Sunday, Shirley paid a “friendly” visit to a “hospice consulting” business, inquiring with employees as to how he could start one. They were, predictably, unwilling to oblige.

“LA hospice fraudsters shut down their fraudulent business and flee the building. This ‘business’ was operating as a home healthcare and hospice consultant, teaching others how to start a fraudulent hospice business,” Shirley posted.
Right Line News Chief Content Officer Eric Daugherty posted footage of Shirley striking up a conversation — during business hours with an open sign clearly displayed — with employees only for one to flee in an expensive car.

After telling viewers his intentions to start his own hospice facility, Shirley asked two young women, “Are you guys the hospice consultants?” seeing as they were already confused and nervous.
“You want to open a hospice?” one continued. After telling them his intentions, the woman told him, “I understand, but we don’t take care of that.”
The two women were clearly scrambling. Shirley was not even let into the lobby despite the open sign on full display.
Shirley told audiences that he and his would-be partner were denied service, but as they left, they saw an employee driving away in what Shirley said was a Mercedes-Maybach which lists for over $200,000.
“Where can we open a hospice at?” he asked the driver. “We’d like to open a hospice, get a Maybach just like you,” he quipped.
The two women from inside the lobby were now outside, filming Shirley.
“Is this how I can get a Maybach? By opening my own hospice?” he asked them. To note from Shirley’s original post, the actions of these employees look even worse when seeing they took down their sign and apparently vacated the premises after his questions.
Although these are allegations, it looks like Shirley has stumbled upon yet another massive case of fraud.
Aside from every one of these people needing charges brought against them and a long prison sentence if guilty, the electoral ramifications cannot be overlooked.
After Shirley’s investigation in Minnesota, Democratic Gov. Tim Walz vowed to never seek public office again.
California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is a presidential hopeful.
If these allegations can be linked back to California Democrats and Newsom specifically, this fiasco could tank his campaign if it unravels into 2028.
