The revolution will not be peaceful

Those who wish to breezily dismiss or ridicule the left-wing Democratic Socialists of America amid the organization’s ongoing hostile takeover efforts against the Democratic Party do so at their peril. Yes, these radicals open themselves up to mockery and often earn amusing monikers like Sen. John Kennedy’s (R-LA) recent instant classic, “Lulu Lenin.”

And yes, it’s fair game to highlight the cartoonish hypocrisy of their deadbeat “elites,” such as one limousine-commie failson who’s been exposed for allegedly lying about his own union membership. He apparently got the boot from his apprenticeship for chronic truancy while using non-union labor to renovate the seven-figure property his wealthy parents gifted him.

In the process, it seems, he failed to secure the proper permits and also didn’t pay the rent he owed on the apartment he occupied while awaiting completion of the work on his expensive townhouse. What a guy.

These people deserve to be punchlines, and humor can be a very effective political weapon. Nevertheless, it’s a mistake to just point and laugh at them as unserious buffoons who aren’t achieving anything.

They are actually achieving a great deal, getting several of their fellow travelers elected to very powerful positions in “progressive” cities and winning high-profile nomination fights in Democratic primaries as they seek to gut the political party whose carcass they intend to use as a vessel to........
