Trump's approach to Venezuela proves he's a megalomaniac

The U.S. raid that seized Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro shocked and surprised the world – and produced a host of reactions, from full-throated support to round condemnation.

We wanted to hear the opinions of you, our USA TODAY readers, about the Jan. 3 military action that landed Maduro in a U.S. courtroom and has, apparently, put us in charge of running Venezuela.

We invited you to participate in our ongoing Forum feature, by asking you questions such as: Do you agree with President Donald Trump's bypassing of Congress? Are you concerned about an ongoing American presence in Venezuela? And who do you think should run that country?

Suffice it to say, you had some strong opinions – about the role of Congress in use of the military, the importation of drugs into the United States and what Trump might have in mind next.

Read a collection of these responses below, or send in your own to us at forum@usatoday.com using the subject line "Forum Venezuela."

This is a trend that should be stopped.

Nobody knows how long the U.S. will be directly involved in Venezuela as this administration has not been forthcoming with any kind of action plan. Everyone should be happy that Maduro has been removed, however leaving his vice president,
