Leaders from Ireland, Norway and Spain said Wednesday their countries will officially recognize a Palestinian state later this month as the war between Israel and Hamas continues to rage in Gaza and amid continual calls for a ceasefire.
The controversial yet largely symbolic move was met with anger from Israel, whose foreign minister responded by ordering the nation’s ambassadors to return immediately from the three countries.
