The Left Will Never Give Up Global Warming
Here is an interesting quote:
"Snows are less frequent and less deep. They often do not lie below the mountains more than one, two, or three days and very rarely a week. They are remembered to be formerly frequent, deep, and of long continuance. The elderly inform me that the earth used to be covered with snow about three months every year. The rivers, which then seldom failed to freeze over in the course of the winter, scarcely ever do now. This change…in the spring of the year is very fatal to fruits…I remember that when I was a small boy, say 60 years ago, snows were frequent and deep in every winter."
Well, that's it, isn't it? Global warming is a reality. The Left has won. Not so much snow now as 60 years ago—proof positive that the Earth has been warming, and will continue to do so. We'd better do as the Left says and immediately begin changing everything so that we won't all be toast by the year 2100. Let's drive electric cars, eat bugs, and never use oil again.
A major problem with that thesis is that the above quote is from Thomas Jefferson in the year 1799. History shows us that there was, indeed, a definite warming trend in the 18th century that lasted several decades, and couldn't possibly have anything to do with "fossil fuels" because the Industrial Revolution had barely begun by 1799. Jefferson didn't try to explain the warming trend in his century, and he certainly didn't blame it on man. He knew better.
The Left isn't going to give up global warming, folks. I read this recently on X (from Libs of TikTok): "Massachusetts Democrats move to limit miles people can drive because of climate change. SB226 introduces by State Senator Cindy Creen (D) can limit people's personal car use and mileage they are allowed to........
