Thursday, the ACLJ filed an amicus brief at the United States Supreme Court in Don Scott v. Ryan T. McDougle opposing a last-minute request to stay the Virginia Supreme Court’s ruling that struck down a deeply flawed redistricting amendment. What is at stake is not merely a disputed map but whether the constitutional safeguards Virginians have relied upon for more than 150 years can be discarded in a partisan power grab by Virginia’s leftist politicians.
