There should be some questions so fundamental that answering them does not require a political debate. 

What does the "W" in WNBA stand for? 

That is not an insult to anyone. It is not hatred. It is not intolerance. It is the very reason the league exists. 

Women's sports were created because biological differences between men and women matter in athletic competition. Separate categories gave women the opportunity to compete, excel, win championships, earn scholarships, break records and build professional careers on a fair playing field. 

If biological sex becomes irrelevant to eligibility for women's competition, then the justification for having a separate women's category begins to collapse. 

And the people who ultimately pay the price are not politicians, activists, or television commentators. They are women and girls. 

Think about the young girl who first picks up a basketball at 6 years old. She spends thousands of hours practicing. Her parents drive her to tournaments before sunrise. She sacrifices weekends, vacations, and countless social events. She trains when nobody is watching. 

She dreams of making varsity. 

Perhaps the Olympics. 

The same story unfolds in wrestling rooms, swimming pools,........
