GUNTER: It's good Soleimani's gone, but Trump's position is unclear

Make no mistake about it, Qassem Soleimani was a very bad dude. The world is better without the powerful and charismatic Iranian general and spymaster who was assassinated in a U.S. drone strike while visiting Iraq on Friday.

The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency claims Soleimani was in Baghdad to hatch plans for attacks on American soldiers, diplomats and businesspeople across the Middle East. Indeed, at the time of his death, Soleimani was meeting with leaders of an Iraqi militia that had recently attacked the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on behalf of the Iranian government.

Soleimani had strong ties to some of the most anti-Israeli, anti-Western factions in the region, including Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad. He helped keep the brutal Syrian regime in power when a pro-democracy uprising threatened to topple brutal tyrant Bashar al-Assad.

He also worked to undermine Lebanon’s democratic government following the Cedar Revolution in 2005 and very likely had a hand in........
