LILLEY: Trudeau finds an apology he can't give

4 1 0

We’ve finally found an apology that Justin Trudeau can’t offer up: an apology to Jody Wilson-Raybould.

Our feminist PM has offered up apologies on our behalf to all sorts of groups, but when it comes to apologizing to Wilson-Raybould — or the Canadian public for that matter — Trudeau has decided the answer is no.

“I was always taught that when you do something wrong, you apologize for it,” Wilson-Raybould said in an interview with talk radio host Charles Adler.

“I think it’s an opportunity to apologize to Canadians and rebuild some trust that has been lost.”

Yet our PM, able to whip out tears for a heartfelt apology seemingly at will, doesn’t think he has anything to apologize for here.

“I’m not going to apologize for standing up for Canadian jobs, because that’s my job,” Trudeau said Thursday in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Sure, Canadians expect their elected leaders to stand up........
