Editorial: Death at the hands of ICE

It cries out, too, for Congress, governors, mayors and the courts to do all that they can to rein in an administration whose crusade against illegal immigration has morphed into an assault on the fundamental rights of free speech and public assembly.

While the killing of Renee Nicole Good has drawn national attention to ICE’s tactics, it is far from the first act of unnecessary and excessive violence for this paramilitary agency, which President Donald J. Trump significantly expanded to round up millions of undocumented immigrants. Mask-clad agents have descended on cities, suburbs and rural communities, snatching people off the street, breaking into homes and raiding farms and other businesses suspected of employing people who are here illegally.
