NORTHUMBERLAND — Stephanie Mumford Brown and Dan Lundquist say they have found a deeper shade of gray love — a senior marriage.
On a Friday afternoon in July, Brown, 71, and Lundquist, 70, tied the knot in the backyard of their Saratoga County farmhouse. The bride’s sister, Jennifer Brown, officiated and the bride’s close friend, Lisa Schwarzbaum, a film critic, was the witness.
The bride, an avid golfer, went barefoot and wore her favorite golf skort. The groom donned a white button-down shirt, pink shorts and Topsiders — with white crew socks, a fashion faux pas he now regrets. They skipped the rings.

“By the powers vested in me by the town of Northumberland, I present you married,” the bride’s sister said.
The bride and groom hugged and kissed but did not exchange vows. All signed the marriage license (the town clerk had waived the $25 paperwork fee). And that was that.
“It was casual, short and sweet. It felt so Dan and Stephanie to me,” Lundquist said.
