Jochnowitz: The cure for crazy? Try a Trump filter

I don’t stress about Donald Trump — or not, at least, on the near-constant basis that so many people seem to.

Here’s my secret: a Trump filter I installed on my email in late 2021. It moves anything from Trump’s various campaign and PAC accounts to a folder called “Trump Unread.”

As of this week, the folder had accumulated well over 3,000 emails.

I’m sure some readers will say, “But Jay, you’re a journalist. You write about Donald Trump. Don’t you have to listen to everything he says?”

Well, no.

To understand why that is, here’s a summary of the oldest email in that folder, from Dec. 3, 2021, that I finally read this week for the sake of this column: It states that Trump personally developed the COVID-19 vaccine, but then people wouldn’t get it because Joe Biden was president and was now destroying America with no jobs, massive layoffs, high gas and energy prices, runaway crime, empty shelves, open borders, and withdrawal from Afghanistan. Also, the election was rigged.

Don’t get me wrong: I pay keen attention to what Trump plans to do if he is reelected. But I don’t need to read his emails every day, or listen to his rallies, to know that he is........
