Swede Mountain views improving with care from Warren County

Barbara McMartin didn’t give me a warm, fuzzy feeling about Swede Mountain.
In her 1988 guidebook, “Discover the Eastern Adirondacks” she states “most of the view is gone, though from late fall through early spring you may have glimpses northwest over the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness.”
The trail to Swede is only open to the public from Dec. 17 to Sept. 9. The tower and trail are closed during hunting season.
If two miles isn’t enough of a hike for you, Swede Mountain and Bartonville Mountain in Brant Lake would be an excellent combination. Or, you know, maybe you could try my biking idea.
“May have glimpses” in winter didn’t sound promising.
