Churchill: More questions that should be answered

Last week's "35 Questions" column, a mocking tribute to the 35 goofy questions Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently submitted to the Washington Post, may have ruined me. Ever since, I just can't stop asking questions and numbering them in lists.

It's a ghastly habit, I realize, and I apologize. Nevertheless, here for your reading pleasure, or not, are a bunch of questions for which I want answers.

1. Bernie Sanders' poll numbers have collapsed in recent weeks. Consider that the Vermonter was the choice of 29 percent of voters in a mid-April Emerson poll, but was down to just 11 percent in the most recent poll of the 2020 Democratic field, taken by Quinnipiac.

What happened? Did the nation suddenly tire of the grumpy septuagenarian?

The most reasonable assumption is that a less-grumpy septuagenarian, Joe Biden, entered the race, received a ton of positive media attention and stole support from Sanders. But Bernie's slide also followed his nationally televised declaration that prisoners, including the Boston Marathon bombers, should have the right to vote.

Did Crazy Bernie finally get too crazy?
