In a recent column, I described Ralph Ambrosio as a lamb about to be slaughtered. He didn’t love the analogy.
That’s understandable, of course, and the language may have been harsh. But I’ll stick by the general premise, which is that Ambrosio, the Republican candidate for Albany County district attorney, is likely to lose badly in the upcoming election.
“I know what you meant,” Ambrosio told me in a phone conversation. “It’s very unusual for a Republican to even be running in Albany County. But I’m a serious candidate.”

Ambrosio, 73, is a former........
