ALBANY — Despite that disastrous debate, Kathy Hochul is steadfast in her support of Joe Biden. She even has been called “Biden’s biggest fan.”
Hochul, a co-chair of Biden’s presidential campaign, was part of a group of Democratic governors who met with the president in the wake of the debate. Afterward, New York’s top elected official stepped forward to tell reporters that “President Joe Biden is in it to win it, and all of us pledged our support to him.”
That comment unsettled some who had participated in the meeting and disputed its accuracy, according to The New York Times. And soon after, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, who had attended the meeting, seemingly proved Hochul wrong by urging Biden to exit the race.

Hochul is among the Democrats continuing to champion the president, insisting he remains fit for the office.
