‘Attempt To Silence My Voice’: PDP Leader Iltija Mufti After X Account Withheld in India

Srinagar: The X account of Peoples Democratic Party leader Iltija Mufti was “withheld in India” on Monday (May 11), days after Jammu and Kashmir police filed a case of sedition against her, reportedly for posting a video of the Hurriyat hawk, Syed Ali Geelani.

The home page of Mufti’s X account @IltijaMufti_ says it has “withheld in IN (India) in response to a legal demand”. Such demands are usually raised under section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 against the content which is deemed by the government as a threat to national security and public order, among other reasons.
