The Curious Case of Israel

Here is a snapshot of current events in Israel.

There is ongoing fighting in brutal wars with Hezbollah and Hamas and the possibility of renewed conflict with Iran. 

The Prime Minister is on trial and political parties are being created and dissolved with speculation about the timing of the next election.

There are daily attacks from international press and human rights groups accusing Israel of committing genocide.

The New York Times published a column claiming that the IDF trains dogs to rape Palestinian prisoners. Canine experts and analysts have heavily criticized this as implausible and lacking evidentiary basis.  

A report on crimes committed against women and children on October 7th was released.  Victims, witnesses and hostages were interviewed and GoPro video taken by Hamas terrorists was analyzed. The report details events and behaviors so depraved and psychotic they are beyond human comprehension. 

What else is going on?

 The Israeli shekel is on a tear and has become one of the most resilient currencies.

A 1500 Square foot dirat gan (garden apartment) in Modiin currently sells for the same amount of money as a 4800 square foot house (including basement) in midtown Toronto.  (To put this in perspective just think about how many people........
