How Fake Precision Manufactures Civilizational Claims
Not every dangerous fiction now arrives as propaganda. More and more often, it arrives as a scholarly-looking paper.
It has an abstract. It has keywords. It has population tables, genetic vocabulary, migration maps, institutional affiliations, and exactly enough technical language to produce an impression of rigor. But what it actually produces is not knowledge. It produces legitimacy ready for scale.
That is the real problem.
This is no longer just a matter of bad scholarship. Bad scholarship is old. What is more dangerous today is the mechanism. A text takes fragments of real research, adds weaker sources, borrows platform prestige, stretches its thematic range far beyond its competence, and ends with a conclusion much larger than the evidence can sustain. The result is an object that looks scientific enough to circulate and expansive enough to have political effects.
This is where the distinction must be made clearly. Serious research narrows. It limits its claims. It disciplines inference. It protects the differences between statistical similarity, ancestry, identity, and political implication. A pseudo-scholarly........
