Dayenu – 2026 Version |
After all that we have been through the past few years here in Israel, the timing of this current war before Passover comes with many trials and tribulations, alongside many miracles deserving of gratitude.
It seemed appropriate to add a 2026 version of Dayenu to this year’s Passover seder.
How many levels of favors has the Almighty bestowed upon us:
Had we slept for several hours in a row, and there was no siren… Dayenu.
Had we showered and managed to rinse off the soap, Before the siren pierced the soul… Dayenu.
Had there been an early warning, Before a siren or a missile landed… Dayenu.
Had we gone shopping at the supermarket, And not been stuck on the road with our hands over our heads… Dayenu.
Had we been stuck by the roadside during a siren, And there was no rain or mud… Dayenu.
Had we returned from shopping, And managed to unload the groceries without a siren… Dayenu.
Had we managed to finish cooking, Without a siren messing up our cooking… Dayenu.
Had UAVs and missiles been fired from a distant land, And they were intercepted in the sky… Dayenu.
Had the missiles and UAVs been shot down in the sky, And “only” shrapnel without explosives fell… Dayenu.
Had missiles, drones, or shrapnel fallen from the sky, But landed in open areas… Dayenu.
Had there been missile strikes, And there was only damage to property and not to life… Dayenu.
Had there been missile strikes and bodily harm, But the wounded and the families of the fallen had someone to lean on… Dayenu.
Had there been many disasters, And among them many, many miracles… Dayenu.
How much more so is the goodness doubled and quadrupled upon us:
That we have the State of Israel, and we have a strong IDF, security forces, and police force.
That we have technology that watches over us from above, and neighbors down below who knock on the door to check that everything is okay.
And we have a strong people, who know how to laugh even when it’s hard, and to lend a hand to those in need without even being asked.
We lived through Pharaoh, we will get through this too.
”I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” (Ani L’dodi v’Dodi Li).
All of us as one, not only when it’s hard.

דיינו גרסה עדכני 2026 / סוזי מאירפלד
כמה מעלות טובות למקום עלינו
אילו ישנו כמה שעות ברצף
ולא הייתה אזעקה… דיינו
אילו התקלחנו והספקנו להוריד סבון
לפני שהאזעקה פילחה את הנשמה… דיינו
אילו הייתה התרעה מוקדמת
לפני אזעקה או טיל שנחת… דיינו
אילו יצאנו לקניות בסופר
ולא נתקענו בנסיעה בכביש עם ידיים על הראש… דיינו
אילו נתקענו באזעקה לצידי הכביש
ולא היה גשם ובוץ… דיינו
והספקנו לפרוק את המצרכים ללא אזעקה… דיינו
אילו הצלחנו לסיים לבשל
בלי אזעקה ששיבש את בישול… דיינו
אילו נורו כטב”מים וטילים מארץ רחוקה
והם נורו בשמים… דיינו
אילו הטילים והכטב”מים נורו בשמים
ו”רק” נפל רסיסים ללא חומר נפץ… דיינו
אילו נפל טילים, כטב”מים או רסיסים מהשמיים
אך נפלו בשטח פתוח… דיינו
ורק היה נזק לרכוש ולא בנפש… דיינו
אילו היו נפילת טילים ונזק לגוף
והיה לפצועים, ולמשפחות ההרוגים על מי להישען… דיינו
וביניהם המון המון ניסים… דיינו
טובה כפולה ומכופלת למקום עלינו
שיש לנו מדינת ישראל, ויש לנו צה”ל, כוחות ביטחון ומשטרה חזקים
שיש לנו טכנולוגיה ששומרת עלינו מלמעלה, ושכנים שדופקים בדלת לבדוק שהכל בסדר מלמטה
ויש לנו עם חזק, שיודע לצחוק גם כשקשה, ולהושיט יד למי שזקוק לו בלי שהתבקשו
עברנו את פרעה, נעבור גם את זה
