My friend and teacher sent around important words on Volition. My take is different from everyone’s. Read his post to know what I’m reacting to.
Only philosophers see a paradox between Determinism and Free Will.
Free will doesn’t mean at all that the future isn’t fixed. Moses doesn’t say, ‘Choose life or death.’ He says, ‘Choose life.’ It’s a command and not ‘You have options.’ The opposite isn’t choosing death but letting things take their course. Free Will is doing your best........
