Costs of Regime Change, Domestic vs Imposed

Today’s foolish slogan is that regime change is OK only when it’s done purely domestically, by a revolution.

That has it backwards.

Domestic revolution costs far more than regime change sponsored from abroad. And it usually comes out far worse – with chaos and a new tyranny.

Domestic Revolution is the Road to Disaster

How many revolutions have turned out for the better in modern times? Very few. But regime changes engineered from abroad? Lots of them have turned out well. It all depends on who does the engineering.

Just look at the litany of modern revolutions. The French Revolution turned to a terror regime and cost millions of lives. The Russian Revolution was worse. Same with the Chinese.

Even the small revolutions — the Cuban Revolution, the Vietnamese,........
