Gimme a Break! |
Gimme a break. What is going on in this crazy world?
Israel, United States, Turkey, and every Arab nation in the Middle East has taken a position against Iran. They are actually working together and cooperating to put Iran and its insane mullahs out of business.
However, Spain and France are supporting whom? It seems like they are supporting Iran. Can that possibly be the case?
And how about the Democrats in the United States and mashugana people, people like Gavin Newsom? Who is he supporting? Is he supporting Iran? It certainly seems so. He makes untrue allegations against Israel which has cut off the head of the anti-Western monster and yet many Democrats, not all, are ready to throw democracy under the bus.
I read something funny the other day. They said the only Democrat, the man with a brain injury, seems to understand reality and be rational. Thank goodness for our own John Fetterman. He has become a heroic figure. Fetterman is absolutely stupendously a man with integrity, clear vision, and understanding.
It is really a crazy world when Spain, France, and most of the Democratic Party of the United States supports Iran. Iran is a place where women and minorities have no rights, never have, and probably never will. Iran is the largest sponsor of terrorism worldwide. Iran not only supports terrorism through their own direct behaviors, but they have hired proxies throughout the world to murder, kill, and maim.
One would think the women’s rights groups and other liberal organizations would be beating the drum to put Iran out of business. But that seems not to be the case.
What exactly are the motives of the Democrats in the United States, Spain, France, and other outliers. Some people say that they simply hate Donald Trump. Donald Trump is so bad that no matter what he does, it has to be wrong.
Now take Franklin Roosevelt, for example. He was a bigot and a racist. His personal correspondence and that of his wife, Eleanor, shows that he was an unrepentant antisemite and had very negative views about other minorities. There is no question that Roosevelt took every opportunity to ignore the death of 6 million Jews during the Holocaust of World War II. There were opportunities to get the Jews out of Europe, but the United States Ambassador to England at the time was Joseph P. Kennedy. Kennedy was a grotesque and disgusting antisemite who thought nothing of the fate which faced the Jews in Europe.
At some point relatively early in the war, Roosevelt received a report called The Acquiescence of the U.S. Government In The Murder of the Jews. Roosevelt reacted to that report by creating a rump commission which did absolutely nothing.
Nevertheless, Roosevelt had phenomenal people run World War II, and the United States snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat. In 1942 when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, the United States was on its knees. Our Navy in the Pacific had been disseminated, and we essentially had no control over the North Atlantic which was patrolled by the German Wolfpack. Watching the old series “Victory at Sea” is extremely educational. It seems as though the United States and its allies had virtually no ability to defeat the German and Japanese war machine.
Nevertheless, Roosevelt has to be given credit for turning the United States around, through his remarkable and capable appointees, and within three years, winning the greatest war that has ever taken place. To do that, Roosevelt had to make deals with the devil, like Joseph Stalin in the Soviet Union. Many people were critical of that and still argue that Stalin was worse than Hitler. Regardless what drives that debate, Roosevelt did an amazing job in managing and winning the war. Never mind that he personally was a bigot and a racist.
The same would be true of Trump. There are some pretty awful things about him, but he is waging a war against Iran which will saves tens of thousands and perhaps millions of lives. Iran has made no secret of its intent to acquire nuclear weapons and to use them against its enemies.
When Barrack Obama entered the Iran nuclear deal, he knew full well that he was giving hegemony of the Middle East to Muslim fanatic extremists who sought to destroy the West along with its value system. I reached out to Senator Robert Casey, who is close with Obama, and I asked him whether he ever read the agreement with Iran. He had not but told me that he was relying upon his professional staff. I pointed out to him three things in the agreement. For one, it did not appear that the language of the agreement was actually binding on Iran but rather it depended upon their acquiescence. Secondly, Iran would be able to keep its nuclear stockpile with Russia or North Korea. Thirdly, and perhaps most amazingly, Iran was to be given thermonuclear technology. That means that Iran was to be given the technology enabling it to build hydrogen bombs. Why in the heaven’s name would the United States ever agree to that?
Senator Casey told me that he would personally talk with President Obama about that and get back to me. He never did, but he did vote for the Iran Nuclear Deal Pack.
Thank goodness, sanctions were reimposed upon Iran, and the monster has been decapitated. The world is safer today than it has been in the last 20 years due to the undermining of terrorist money and influence which flows from Iran and other places in the world. America waged a 20-year war in Afghanistan, and a long, poorly orchestrated war in Iraq. President Trump is doing it the right way, using air power and the phenomenal, totally incredible capability of allies in the region.
Who would have ever imagined a time when Turkey, itself a Muslim country, would say that it is going to work with the United States and others to respond to Iranian attacks. Recently, Saudi Arabia has been attacked by Iran. They too will now join the unofficial coalition against Iran.
Iran has no friends other than China and Russia. Even China and Russia are being careful not to be bitten by the asp. Russia has its own problems waging an unpopular and unsuccessful war against Ukraine. The United States needs to support Ukraine, and perhaps President Trump has now learned that lesson.
Power needs to be used responsibly and, in the interest, the long-term interest, of the United States. Donald Trump, regardless of other drawbacks, is using that power in a way which is responsible, necessary, and useful to our long-term interests. Our alliance with Israel is no different than our alliance with England during World War II or with other great allies over the centuries.
There will always be irrational extremists who will claim that America First somehow precludes us from defending our own interests in the world and from cooperating with allies.
In the Middle East right now, the United States has never been in a stronger position. For the first time in history, modern or ancient, enemies are working together to defeat the national aspirations of those who would destroy the American way of life.
Maybe we all need to spend more time listening to the simplicity and directness of John Fetterman. The upstate Pennsylvanian gets it, perhaps better than anyone in either political party.
Nobody likes war. It is not good for anyone, but when it must be fought, it needs to be decisive and based upon reliable alliances. Right now, the United States is on the right track and hopefully, it will remain committed to completing the job.
