When the pot called the kettle black

2 2 1

The other day my wife and I decided it was time to replace our fibreglass electric kettle of eight years with a stainless steel one. While it was a sturdy one and would have lasted another decade we were worried whether the plasticky feel of the kettle was actually plastic and was finding its way into the boiled water we were drinking. Talk of the worries of the urban middle class!

And as is a preoccupation with the UMC these days, I went on Amazon looking for the kettle of my choice and not to the friendly electrical store in a nearby marketplace. Two choices popped up: a kettle from Korean-brand Pigeon and another from our very own, very old Prestige. Pigeon was less prestigious by Rs.20........
