a) Comprehending simple instructions, such as circling one answer, is beyond you, even after 12 years of schooling; or

b) You’re moody, and disengaged from this whole caper; or

c) There is, in fact, more than one correct answer, but being cluey enough to pick this up you’ll also grasp that success comes to those who game the system; or

d) There is, in fact, more than one correct answer, but you only know this because you’ve Googled it, in contravention of Victoria’s world-leading mobile phone ban in government schools. Gotcha!

1. Victoria is called the “Education State” because:

a) After an extended arm wrestle with the Feds, the Andrews government boosted funding for public school students. It’s also investing an extra half a billion in repairing, maintaining and upgrading every government school in the state.

b) The state government is studiously restoring the TAFE sector from funding cuts inflicted when the Coalition last held power.

c) In a national first, girls at state schools will get free pads and tampons from next year. Premier Daniel Andrews this week described the move as “inclusive”. (Of 50 per cent-plus of the population.)
