I wanted to turn this mother and baby away. My grandsons stopped me

She turned up at our house, a great chunk of hair missing, bloody clumps all over her body, limping. I wanted to have nothing to do with her.

I’m not a horrible person, but I’ve never met a possum I didn’t hate. Look, I know there are people who are animal lovers, and I applaud their empathy and compassion while not wanting to exercise any of that towards garden-munching rats with environmental street cred.
