Cut out the crouch: The little things we loathe at Perth cafes

Cafes used to be king in my pre-kid world, a place to chill over a coffee and the paper while watching the world wander on by outside.

These days I am a creature of habit, forced to frequent haunts mostly in the hood when the chance (and children) permits. But with work based inner-city, I expand my horizons now and then and find one constant remains the same; everyone in the cafe game has room for improvement.

Last week the kids and I ventured to our local in Sorrento (now under threat incidentally) for the Wednesday evening special – where the little ones eat for $5 – and were stunned when a waitress handed us a bag of pastries, sausage rolls and other treats left over from the day.

It was a deft touch that left an indelible mark on my opinion of Voyage Kitchen, and got me thinking; if such a small gesture gets me telling everyone about it, how much damage are the little crimes against cafe patrons listed below doing to their business?

After canvassing some coworkers and fleshing out our grievances, I was left with the following list detailing the pitfalls we all noticed at our favourite cafes around Perth.
