New York City has gone all in on speed cameras in a bid to get more and more money out of drivers.
But some states and cities are putting limits speed cameras, if not getting rid of them entirely.
A state law that recently went into effect in Louisiana has some provisions that will stun Staten Islanders who are aggravated by the ever-growing number of speed cameras here.
Louisiana lawmakers said that the new law was necessary in order to push back against concerns that speed cameras and red-light cameras were being used to take advantage of poor state residents in order to generate revenue.
Under the Louisiana law, which went into effect in May, speed cameras placed in school zones are now only allowed to be operational on school days while children are in school, NOLA.com reported.........
