Likening Republicans to Adolph Hitler or calling them Nazis and fascists is one of the most overused tropes in the Democratic Party playbook.
President George W. Bush was compared to the Nazi mass murderer. So was President Ronald Reagan. And President Richard Nixon. As well as 1964 GOP presidential candidate Barry Goldwater.
And, of course, former President Donald Trump.
Trump recently announced that he would hold a campaign rally at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 27.
This inspired a full-blown flareup of Trump Derangement Syndrome in state Sen. Brad Hoylman-Sigal (D-Manhattan), who represents the MSG area.
“Let’s be clear,” Hoylman-Sigalwrote on X. “Allowing Trump to hold an event at MSG is equivalent to the infamous Nazis rally at Madison Square Garden on February 20, 1939.”
