Happy New Year!
Unfortunately, for over 1,100 retirees from the former St. Clare’s Hospital who live in Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany and Rensselaer Counties and others, it is the start of another stressful new year of trying to financially survive without the retirement savings they were counting on.
I have steadfastly advocated to help make these dedicated former health care professionals whole since their pension was reduced and, in some cases, outright eliminated with little notice back in 2018.
My Dad always said if you have a problem, go to the highest source. I, and I’m sure many of the pensioners, as well as others, have said many prayers to our Heavenly Father for his intervention.
Here in state government, as she walked to her State of the State Address in the Assembly Chamber, I asked Governor Hochul to personally meet with the pensioners, which unfortunately, she has refused to do.
