Q: I’ll admit I went down a bit of a rabbit hole last weekend. A friend of mine posted about doing a “subscription audit” on her bank account, so out of curiosity I figured I’d do the same. I was wrong to assume I wouldn’t find too many. I counted seven recurring charges, and I can explain maybe four of them. There’s a streaming service I apparently upgraded months ago and never noticed. There’s a charge under a company name I genuinely don’t recognize. And the best one, I signed up for a free trial for a workout app back in October, fully intending to cancel before it charged me, and it’s been quietly billing me every month since. I’m not in any financial trouble, I just wish I had put the money to better use. I’m a little confused how this happened so many times without me noticing, but the better question is, how can I stop this from happening again? ~Griffin
