Mr Modi: Runner-up in 2025

In war, one either wins or loses. In the May 2025 war, the runner-up trophy went to Mr Modi. This outcome reveals two critical truths for Mr Modi. Firstly, he lost the war that he initiated in the form of his ill-fated Operation Sindoor, and, secondly, he lacks wisdom. It is a pity that despite losing Mr Modi has an itch for extending the war in terms of Operation 2.0 and vengeance, however, this will again lead to a bigger disaster.

For regional peace to prevail, the primary focus of the Indians should be on towing a saner line rather than indulging in sabre-rattling, its one-point agenda primarily focused on the promotion of Hindutva, Sangh Parivar, and hard-line politics, and looking for revenge which is neither good for the South Asian region, nor for the so-called secular India. In that regard, the pragmatic approach for peace is twofold, forgiveness and forgetting, indicating the willingness to move forward, rather than remaining trapped in the past. For India to be able to initiate the measure of forgiveness, it needs to seek it from within, rather than from Pakistan. Unfortunately, Mr Modi is not letting the wolf inside him calm down and pursue peace for the Indians and the region.
