Trump’s tariffs help wealthy while punishing the poor

What I make of Trump’s tariffs — I am not an economist, but three things stand out to me when it comes to tariffs:

1) They make the economy less efficient as they add another step is establishing price. This added step requires people, effort and time to calculate, adjust and establish prices that can continue to generate profits.

2) They disproportionately affect lower-income folks, as they have less flexibility and resources to adjust to price increases. This effect further increases the gap between the rich and the poor.

3) Tariff revenue enables even larger tax deductions for the rich.

In essence, you are taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich. What a wonderful gift to the nation. Thank you Mr. Trump.
