The eve of destruction. Why can’t we be friends

In Mr. Figliozzi’s Dec. 21’s “Religion” submittal he states, “The alteration in Americans’ attitudes toward religion described by the Gallup report likely reflects all this, and not – as some who perceive some sort of cultural war want to say – a loss of values and morality. It’s just the opposite.”

“It’s” makes the unrestricted statement of singularity, i.e., it is not a loss of values and morality.

Perhaps reality may be that it exists in both the “is” and “is not” dimensions.

Some may “leave the church” to live a life of higher values and morality, while others may “leave the church” as the result of a conclusion that since the church has and may continue to act in low value/moral ways, there is no need to feel accountable to any code of values/morality. Hence, the “I can do whatever I want” mentality.

Look around for real life examples of both possibilities. Judge for yourself the path mankind may be traveling. Beware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I fervently wish Mr. Figliozzi was 100% correct that it is to the higher ground.
