County should include Amish in tourism
I’ve always been perplexed that Montgomery County has not included the Amish in its tourism efforts.
I do not mean treating them like monkeys in a zoo, but the Amish have many products to sell and they want to sell them.
They sell produce, baked goods, butter, candy, maple syrup, eggs and flowers. They also manufacture lumber, furniture, sheds and garages. Furthermore, they do upholstery, millwork, carpentry and metal fabrication.
Finally, drives to their farms are scenic and add to their tourism value.

Many contributed to soldier care packages
The Chatham American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 42, has collected items for care packages for deployed service members for the past 12 years. The packages are sent out by Operation Adopt A Soldier in Saratoga Springs. Each year the request by the Auxiliary is made during October and November to help support that........
