Last Tuesday, my old high school friends and I cheered on the final game of a national high school baseball tournament, called the Cheongnyonggi Competition, at the Mokdong Baseball Stadium in Seoul. My alma mater, Jeonju High School, faced off with Masan Yongma High School. The game started at 2 p.m., and was stopped after the bottom of the third inning due to monsoonal rain. By 5 p.m., the rain fully stopped, and the game resumed after an hour and a half, ending after 7 p.m. Both teams played hard, and Jeonju High School won 14-5.
It was so much fun to sing the school song and cheer with my high school classmates I hadn't seen in a long time, and with the younger students who had chartered buses from our hometown. Regardless of whether they won or not, the situation would have been the same for our opponents, Masan Yongma High School.
Watching and cheering along during this........
