Good coach - and friend

The sun was glaring down on me as I sat down on the benches of the tennis courts, a drop of sweat dripping down my face every minute that passed. I felt frustrated that I had again lost to a player who had beat me time and time again.

In this moment of dejection, I saw my coach walk over. I lowered my eyes beneath my hat in shame, turning the opposite way. I was prepared for a lecture about how I must improve my hits, but was surprised to feel my coach embrace me.

"Don't beat yourself up. There's always next time," my coach said. I distinctly remember the sense of relief that washed over me as soon as he said those calming words. It was those simple sentences that helped me to get back up, fix my mistakes and regain my love for the sport.

Coach Brandon gave motivational pep talks to my tennis team, constantly encouraging us to do our best. In life, most social activities are not composed of singles and doubles, as society is built upon communities and fellowships of many individuals. Some communities are like my tennis team, a team that is motivated and inspired by pep talks. However, other........
