What are your resolutions? It is the beginning of the year. Usually, people reflect on their growth throughout the past year and plan what they can do to further grow over the coming year. This causes many to feel a sense of failure, as they believe they did not grow as much as they had hoped to. This pattern of behavior is repeated every year.

What we need to think about is why it is so difficult to maintain growth. Just as human beings cannot grow perpetually, neither can organizations; if organizations are blindly forced to do so, they will eventually become sick and collapse. The longer the life of an organization, the more meaningful that will be. Therefore, it is important to think about how to prolong the growth of an organization that will bring meaning to society and to individuals. So, just why is it hard for an organization to maintain constant growth even after a full year of growth? Or even after growing for 10 consecutive years?
