Is that Three Wise Men, or the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

AS we mark the feast of the Epiphany, one thing is certain. There’s a global shortage in wise men.

Rather than bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, today’s equivalent of the Magi would be doing all they could to secure their monopolies and keep as much of the stuff as they could for themselves.

Nobody begrudges people the fruits of their hard work. The human instinct to work hard, provide for family and use money for the good of others and the enrichment of society is one of the things which has helped give us all a high quality of life.

To date, human progress has been marked by successive generations gifting a better life to their children: better housing, better health outcomes, and longevity.
