Stormont is more farce than panto, and Sinn Féin also play their part

I’m with the assessment that Stormont is a pantomime. Indeed, I might push it further than that and describe it as pure, unadulterated, unfunny, appallingly-acted farce.

And, unlike pantomime, there is no fixed season for farce; so the entire motley has remained booked out at the Big Comedy House On The Hill for almost 27 years.

Less comedy, of course, and more improvised vitriol and over-rehearsed, wildly dramatic asides to an audience that might or might not have snuffed it. It really is hard to tell.

Let’s be honest, there have been an awful lot of rancours floating around the place since 1998, so it strikes me as unnecessarily churlish to dump most of the blame on the DUP.

Brian Feeney: Stormont is a pantomime and DUP is playing the role of baddie

Aoife Moore: My cousin Patrick died aged 29 from Aids. Now the north’s HIV rates are at a record high

I don’t think there was ever a golden era between the DUP and Sinn........
