Fifteen graduates of the Bucks County Opportunity Council's economic self-sufficiency program were honored Wednesday night at a ceremony at the Northampton Valley Country Club, and shared inspirational stories of pulling themselves out of poverty.

Senior care provider. Esthetician. Information technology specialist. Social worker. Marketing development manager. Registered nurse. Licensed practical nurse. Program manager. Advertising account assistant. Accountant. Pharmacy technician. Insurance sales and notary. Mechanic.

Chances are pretty good you've run into people with these jobs at the grocery store, the ball field, your office park, a cocktail party. Chances are pretty good you've utilized the services or become personally aware of people who perform these jobs at some point.

These jobs do have something in common. At least they did Wednesday night.
