Irwin on track to succeed Brownley in California
California State Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D) is on track to fill the seat being vacated by Rep. Julia Brownley (D-Calif.) in the House, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ).
Irwin has locked down one of the top two spots to move on to November in the race for California’s 26th Congressional District with 40.09 percent of the vote, DDHQ numbers show. Republican businessman Sam Gallucci also locked down a spot in the general election later this year, bringing in 22.03 percent of the vote.
