More Americans worried about running out of money than death: Survey

(NewsNation) — Nearly 70 percent of Americans say they worry more about running out of money than they do about death, according to a new poll.

The survey by Allianz Life Insurance Company North America found that Generation X harbors the most economic anxiety, with 73 percent fearing for their finances over death, followed by millennials at 69 percent and baby boomers at 59 percent.

“Americans are well aware that preparing to fund a decades-long retirement is a big undertaking,” according to Kelly LaVigne, vice president of consumer insights of Allianz Life. “Rising costs and ongoing economic uncertainty are making many people wonder if their savings will run out.”
