FBI returning Nancy Guthrie’s home to family after final sweep: Reports
(NewsNation) — Law enforcement is preparing to return Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home to her family after a flurry of activity at the residence, according to multiple reports.
The surge in FBI agents was reportedly said to be a final sweep for evidence before the property is returned to her children, including “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie, both NBC News and CBS News reported, citing law enforcement sources close to the investigation.
For several hours on Wednesday, up to a dozen investigators in unmarked vehicles scattered across the Tucson property.
Investigators spent considerable time near the front door, appearing to focus on the porch and walkway, where a trail of her blood was discovered. At one point, a vehicle with tinted windows pulled into the garage.
The group was also spotted inside the home’s foyer, peering out onto the porch, where Guthrie’s security camera captured images and video of the suspect.
Police released images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance. (FBI)
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI released several surveillance photos, including the one seen here, related to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie on Feb. 10, 2026. The 84-year-old was reported missing on Feb 1, 2026. (VIa Pima County Sheriff’s Department)

Nancy Guthrie case: New $1M reward prompts 1,500 tips
Guthrie, 84, was last seen entering her home on Jan. 31. Police believe she was taken against her will, and multiple ransom notes have surfaced related to her disappearance.
The identity of a masked suspect caught on camera remains unknown, but investigators and Guthrie’s family alike hope a new reward could change that soon.
Savannah Guthrie on Monday issued another plea for her mother’s return, announcing a private $1 million reward alongside the FBI’s existing $100,000.
The FBI said the new reward has generated a surge of new tips in the case, with 1,500 rolling in nearly a month into the search.
