Madison Square Garden watch party canceled with Trump attending NBA Finals
There will not be a watch party outside of Madison Square Garden (MSG) for Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday, with President Trump set to attend.
In a press release, the office of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) said that the watch party was canceled after the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) and New York City Police Department (NYPD) determined it could not be held due to security requirements associated with the president’s attendance.
The Hill has reached out to MSG, USSS and NYPD for comment.
Trump, who was born and raised in New York City, will attend Game 3 of the Finals — with the New York Knicks hoping to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series over the San Antonio Spurs.
